My youngest will be 12

How did this happen. It seems like yesterday he was in diapers. His Birthday isn't until Friday, but we decided to have it yesterday so his grandpa and great-aunt could come over for the day. It is just easier for them to get away on the weekends.

Jacob has always loved the Pirates of the Carribbean movies, so when I saw Dustin Pikes new digial stamps, I knew what I had to do LOL. I'm a huge fan of Dustin Pike you really should check his blog. I'll add his link to the side bar.

Here is his candy bouquet. He loved it and plans on using the ship in his room after the candy is all gone, and let me tell you, it is going fast hehe.

I just wish my line work was near as good as Dustins.

Once it was completed, and I realized I had time, I had to make him a banner. Sorry the detail isn't that great, the picture is too small, but you get the idea. It will remain up for the week as we are going to do a little something for him over the weekend.

The cake is a Diet Dr. Pepper cake. We are trying to make more healthy choices. If you have never made one, they are very yummy and you don't miss the suger. Read below for the recipe. I got it from the WW message board, so I hope the creator dosen't mind. I left it in the dish because they are slightly less stable than a regular cake.

Cake Recipe:

Low Suger Cake Mix- I use Pillsbury choclate

12 oz Diet Dr. Pepper or your fav. diet soda

2-3 eggs depending on size.

Low Sugar Frosting in tub. Pillsbury again.

Mix together and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. You may need to adjust the time to your oven, but to test for doneness, the top should be bouncy.

If you use a white cake mix, you can change the flavor by changing the soda. I have made one using diet orange soda and one using diet Sprite. For a lower calorie frosting, use cool whip with your favorite dry jello mixed in.

Hugs, Have a great day!

Valerie
